Maxx III Thermal Hotspots

A firmware update for Maxx III is now available for download, featuring the integration of KK7 Thermal Hotspots on the wind screen. The likelihood of thermals is indicated by black dots of varying sizes.

The larger the black dot, the more frequent or stronger the thermals have been in the past at the same time of day, in the same month, and at that location. This allows you to see at a glance where the next thermal might be.

The integration directly on the wind screen offers real advantages while flying: You can plan your route strategically and fly purposefully from hotspot to hotspot, instead of searching aimlessly for thermals. This not only saves time but also helps avoid critical situations – such as bombing out unexpectedly in thermally inactive areas. Especially for cross-country flying, this makes all the difference.

Both the firmware update and the hotspot data can be conveniently updated via the web app. Thermal Hotspots can be activated under Screen Options → Wind Screen.
