XC Computer for Maxx III

With the new firmware update R10, your XC Tracer Maxx III scores your cross-country flight live – right on your cockpit, no smartphone needed.

New Wind & XC screen. While you fly, the vario continuously analyses your entire flight path and calculates the largest possible triangle and the optimized free distance in real time – scored by XContest, SHV-FSVL/CCC, DHV-XC or UK League rules, whichever you choose. On the overview map you see your triangle right on your track, together with the FAI sector and the closing circle: fly into it and your triangle is closed. The footer always shows the four numbers that matter scored triangle distance, free distance or remaining closing distance, XC average speed and points. So you know whether closing the triangle is worth it while you're still in the air – not after landing.

A long press on the remote control switches from the overview to up to three topographic maps in flight direction (zoom levels from 12 × 9 to 36 × 27 km). That's where the weather picture comes alive: FANET wind stations show live wind and gusts, alternating every second, with the symbol size indicating wind strength at a glance – and if a station blinks between a long and a short arrow, you instantly know it's gusty there. The smallest zoom level additionally shows the thermal hotspots (based on thermal.kk7.ch). If you don't need XC scoring, simply switch it off and keep the classic wind screen with topographic map, distance rings, wind stations and hotspots.

XC info on the standard screen. With XCInfo=yes you bring the four XC values onto your standard screen as well: triangle distance with FAI/flat-triangle symbol, free distance or closing distance, points according to the selected scoring rule, and your XC average speed – identical to the footer of the Wind & XC screen. All units (km/h, mph, knots, miles, nautical miles) are freely selectable.

Available now. The R10 update is available for download now – free as always, via the web app at my.xctracer.online, straight from your smartphone via Bluetooth. The updated user manual will follow in a few days.
